Cantik Swimwear was founded in 2013, designed on the shores of Sydney, Australia and made on the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, The Gadigal people. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the nation.

Cantik (pronounced ‘chan-tick’) meaning ‘beautiful’ in Bahasa Indonesia, is designed for bold and strong Cantik women all over the world. 

Cuts inspired by classic vintage styles & contemporary fashion silhouettes have minimal coverage to feature the female form in all its variations. The highest quality fabrication, refined femininity, quality detailing, daring cuts and unique in-house designed prints encompass the label’s signature aesthetic. 

Cantik Swimwear believes in acting mindfully and responsibly with ethical consciousness at the heart of the label. Through the use of ECONYL VITA fabric, (which is an environmentally innovative 100% regenerable & recycled nylon yarn made from post consumer materials, such as fishing nets recovered from the oceans, plastic bottles etc), we are able to make a positive impact on that current state of environment and global supply chain.

We promise to continue to implement positive changes both large & small to bettering ourselves as a small business and as consumers ourselves.

Founder/Designer Catherine Heenan has a degree in Environmental Humanities & Development and focused her studies specifically on the rights and autonomy of migrant workers. 

Cantik proudly works to empower its manufacturers and employees to create swimwear that its customers comfortably wear satisfactorily knowing their origins. Awareness and influence are beautiful.
